The video verification solutions provide a comprehensive method for users to authenticate their identity and validate their identification documents within a single video recording session. This process is essential for ensuring that the user and their ID document are verified simultaneously, adhering to regulatory standards.

Process Workflow

• Initiation of Video Capture:
  • The user initiates the video verification process after capturing their document and selfie (or Selfie Alive Pro)
  • During this session, the system prompts the user to display both the front and back of their identification document.

• Real-time Video Recording:
  • The system records the user showing the front and back of the ID document in a continuous video stream (in hte case of passports, only the front side)
  • The recorded video captures the user’s face and the ID document in the same time frame, ensuring temporal synchronization.

• Regulatory Compliance:
  • The video verification solution complies with SEPBLAC and CNBV regulations.
  • These regulations mandate that the video must clearly show the user handling the document captured previously.

• Automatic Verification:
  • The system employs automated checks to ensure that the user displays the document before finalizing the video capture.

• Biometric Comparison:
  • Following the video capture, the system performs a biometric comparison between the selfie photo taken during the initial step and the user’s face in the video.

• Lifeproof checks
  • When using the document+selfie+video flow, the system merges detection information from both the video and selfie to calculate a liveness score. It extracts facial features from the selfie image, locating the face and analyzing its content. Additionally, the system extracts frames from the video, detects faces within them, and selects the most relevant frames for an analysis similar to the selfie. This process employs a passive liveness detection algorithm, the one evaluated by iBeta for level 1 and level 2 attacks. Our algorithms are trained on diverse datasets encompassing various presentation attack types and are internally evaluated using carefully curated Veridas datasets.
  • When the flow is document+video, the system uses the information contained in the video to compute the liveness check.

Backoffice review with Boidas

The back-office platform provides a user-friendly interface for agents to review and verify the captured videos. Key features include:

• Biometric Comparison Value:
  • The platform displays the biometric comparison score between the selfie photo and the user’s face in the video.
  • Agents can assess the similarity score to confirm the identity match.

• Document Verification:
  • The platform allows agents to verify that the user has shown both the front and back of the ID document in the video.
  • This manual review step ensures adherence to SEPBLAC/CNBV regulations and provides an additional layer of security.
