Introduction

IMPORTANT NOTE

This Android Compose product is not a new major version of the Android Native SDK, but the product redesigned. It introduces significant changes and new capabilities compared to the previous implementation, but it does not maintain backward compatibility. To ensure a smooth transition, follow the dedicated migration guide and thoroughly test in development environments to validate integration and functionality.

Key Features and Improvements of Android SDKs

The Selfie SDK is a Android library designed to detect and capture a person’s face using advanced biometric technology. It enables the face verification step within Veridas’ identity verification workflows.

The SDK supports two detection modes, each offering progressively stronger security guarantees: Selfie and Selfie Alive Pro.

Flows

  • Selfie: This is the simplest flow. It consists of automatically capturing a facial image when the user's face is correctly positioned within the on-screen guiding oval. No additional interaction is required from the user.
  • Selfie Alive Pro (Head Movement Challenge): This is the most advanced flow, offering the highest level of security. It follows a challenge-response approach and incorporates enhanced liveness detection. The flow involves recording a video of the user performing specific head movements in response to on-screen animations. The user must accurately follow the guided motion to complete the verification process.
