The Receita Federal do Brasil (RFB) is the Brazilian federal agency under the Ministry of Finance responsible for:

  • Managing and supervising the Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas (CPF) and Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica (CNPJ).
  • Overseeing customs, tax administration, and fiscal enforcement.

Established in 1968, Receita Federal ensures reliable identification of individuals and legal entities across Brazil and provides access to official registries for verification purposes.

Receita Federal offers real-time services that enable public and private entities to confirm and validate the identity of Brazilian citizens.

Full Digital Onboarding + Receita Federal

In Veridas' full digital onboarding process, the user:

  • Captures the front and back of the ID card or other valid national identification document.

The Veridas platform then:

  • Authenticates the ID document by verifying security features and extracting printed and encoded data (e.g., CPF number, full name, date of birth).

With the Receita Federal connection, selected extracted fields are verified online against the official registry:

  • CPF number is validated against Receita Federal records.
  • Name and date of birth are validated against the record found in Receita Federal and the data extracted by Veridas.

Veridas returns a boolean flag (match/no-match) for the full name and date of birth:

Score Description
ValidasScoreReceitaFederalCheck Indicates whether the CPF number sent by Veridas matches exactly with the official CPF records held by Receita Federal. This score specifically confirms if the CPF number provided during onboarding exists and aligns correctly with Receita’s database.
ValidasScoreReceitaFederalAuthenticity Represents an overall authenticity score, verifying if the personal details (such as first name, last name and date of birth) returned by Receita Federal match those extracted from the ID document.
ValidasScoreHitIdentityTest Global identity verification score, which equals 1 only if both ValidasScoreReceitaFederalCheck and ValidasScoreReceitaFederalAuthenticity are 1. If either score is 0, this score will also be 0, indicating a failed overall identity validation.

These scores do not affect the ValidationGlobalScore.
