Real biometric signature¶
Veridas offers a real biometric signature solution that modernizes the electronic signature process by providing certainty about the identity of the signer. With Veridas' biometric technology, signing a document with facial recognition enables proof that the document has been signed by the intended person, using only a selfie.
Integrity¶
eSign ensures the integrity of both individual documents and the entire signature process. Each PDF document is signed with a Veridas qualified certificate, guaranteeing its integrity. Additionally, a timestamp is requested for all files used in the signature process, further ensuring the integrity and immutability of the documents.
Security¶
Security is a top priority in the eSign service. All Veridas services are protected by a gateway that authenticates end users and routes requests. The authentication method is based on API keys, providing a secure access mechanism.
Furthermore, when events are sent to a webhook server, they are protected by private tokens managed by the customer. eSign offers three methods to verify the origin and authenticity of the data, ensuring the security of the communication.
Flexibility¶
eSign is designed to provide maximum flexibility to our customers. The API allows entities to be configured step-by-step or all at once, depending on the specific requirements. Whether using library documents, templates with multiple documents, signature requests with a template or multiple documents, or involving multiple signers with or without a group, eSign can accommodate various use cases and configurations.
Webhooks¶
Webhooks play a crucial role in eSign integration. With the eSign API, customers can set up a webhook server to receive real-time event notifications related to the signature process. These events include signature request creation, readiness, signing, certification, timestamping, and custody. By utilizing webhooks, customers can efficiently manage and track the progress of signature requests and perform custom actions based on the received events. These events include:
- signature_request_timestamped: Indicates that all files in the signature process have been timestamped to ensure the integrity of the process.
- signature_request_custodied: Indicates that all files in the signature process have been timestamped and placed under message custody, complying with specific regulations.
- signature_signed: Indicates that a signature process has been signed by a signer.
These events provide important information about the progress and status of signature requests, allowing customers to track and manage the signing process effectively.
Improved error handling for signature requests¶
We've upgraded our signature request process to ensure smoother and more reliable operations. Here's what you can expect:
- Efficient processing: Our system is designed to handle your signature requests swiftly and accurately. If everything goes as planned, you'll get quick confirmation, letting you move forward without delay.
- Smart queue management: Occasionally, signature requests might be queued for later processing due to internal system hiccups or issues with our external providers.
These are rare but manageable situations. Our system is set up to intelligently handle and reprocess these requests when needed. You don't have to do anything – we're on top of it.
Improved persistence of undownloaded signatures¶
We have significantly improved the persistence of undownloaded signatures. Now, only downloaded signatures will be automatically deleted after 30 minutes. Undownloaded signatures will be retained for a full week.
- Benefits: - Improved detection of download issues. - Extended window for signature recovery due to system errors. - Alleviates concerns about immediate data loss.
