UX Recommendations

The following recommendations are based on extensive experience with real integrations and user behavior analysis in identity verification flows.

The goal is to help maximize completion and reduce user confusion across selfie passive and active liveness.

General guidelines for the selfie step

  • Preserve visual semantics in feedback states.
  • Use clear and concise central messages.
  • Keep review disabled unless your process explicitly needs manual user confirmation.
  • Use progress-specific loading/validation texts.

Tutorials and pre-capture screens

  • Keep tutorials enabled.
  • Use descriptive visuals, not decorative ones.
  • Warn users before camera permission prompt.
  • Keep instruction text short and left-aligned.
  • Avoid excessive bold/italic usage.

Process navigation and feedback

  • Keep close button visible.
  • Use specific, neutral and actionable error messages.
  • Prefer step-specific loading text over generic "Loading...".

Texts accessibility

  • Configure meaningful alt text for media.
  • Avoid duplicated narration between spinner alt text and loading title.
  • Review these fields: loading.altText, loading.title, capture.cameraLoading.altText, capture.cameraLoading.title.
