Specifications¶
Requirements¶
There are some requirements that your application must meet in order to integrate the XpressID module into it.
- The minimum operating system version is:
iOS 16.0(iPhone and iPad). - The SDK is compatible with Xcode 27.
- The required permissions your application must include are:
Camera,MicrophoneandLocation. - To read the NFC chip of documents, your application must also enable the Near Field Communication Tag Reading capability and declare the NFC keys in
Info.plist. See NFC reading. - NFC reading needs an iPhone: iPads have no NFC reader. On a device that cannot read NFC, the NFC step is skipped.
Warning
Please, make sure to use a physical device to run the application that integrates this SDK. The SDK cannot be run using simulators.
Module size¶
The following table shows the estimated final compressed contribution of the SDK in an iOS app. It is intended to approximate the footprint of the final packaged artifact as stored and distributed through the Apple App Store.
Total final compressed contribution of XpressID in an iOS app: 32.25 MB
| Artifact | Version | Final compressed contribution |
|---|---|---|
| VeridasXpressID | 2.3.0 | 0.91 MB |
| VeridasCommunication | 1.4.0 | 1.14 MB |
| VeridasNativeDS | 1.4.0 | 4.39 MB |
| VeridasDocumentSDK | 1.4.0 | 0.35 MB |
| VeridasSelfieSDK | 1.4.0 | 0.56 MB |
| VeridasVideoSDK | 1.4.0 | 0.29 MB |
| VeridasNfcSDK | 1.0.0 | 2.10 MB |
| VeridasCommonDefinitions | 1.4.0 | 1.15 MB |
| VeridasGenuineDS | 1.4.0 | 2.11 MB ¹ |
| VeridasSDKCore | 1.4.0 | 18.94 MB |
| VeridasCommonUtils | 1.4.0 | 0.31 MB |
| Total | 32.25 MB |
¹ Lower than in previous releases. Figures are now measured assuming Xcode 27 or later, which requires a minimum deployment target of iOS 15.0. With that target, apps no longer bundle Apple's Swift Concurrency back-deployment library (about 2.4 MB compressed), which earlier figures attributed to this row.
Configuration model¶
The current native SDK uses the API v3 payload and separates configuration into five concerns:
flowSetup: onboarding behavior, stages, and capture-specific options.setup: global flags and shared UI behavior.texts: user-facing copy and accessibility labels.medias: logos, illustrations, and reference assets.styles: design tokens and component appearance.
This model should be used for all new integrations. Legacy flat customization keys should be considered deprecated and migrated before a production rollout.
Compatibility¶
XpressID for iOS is developed and verified as a native iOS SDK distributed as standard .xcframework libraries. This is the recommended integration path for applications built with UIKit or SwiftUI.
If your product uses a hybrid or cross-platform stack, the recommended approach is still to present the native iOS SDK from the iOS layer so you retain the same capture quality, permission handling, and behavior as a fully native app.
